2012 SFFNZ National Championships
Des Armstrong won the competition with 95 trout, with John Bell second and Dan Comer third, each with 68 trout caught.
This was Des’ first win at the national championships, although he has been consistently one of New Zealand’s top anglers at the world fly fishing championships.
